Baby Boomers are poised to put a run on the medical community’s human resources as they grow into senior citizen status and begin to experience – in greater frequency – the heart-related ailments common to people in their age bracket.

Professionals who are certified to run EKG equipment, that use electrical currents to measure the health of the heart’s functions, are already a highly prized component of the medical industry, whether working in a hospital, doctor’s office, clinic or other facility. But the eldest of about 76 million Baby Boomers are entering retirement age now.

That fact means those people born between 1946 and 1964 are about to set-off a second boom. Demand for the EKG Technician profession is expected to continue to grow significantly year over year for the foreseeable future – even as a prolonged recession continues to bludgeon the U.S. economy.
